Our Story
ISAM was founded in 1996, back when Enterprise License Agreements were a new idea and Software Asset Management didn’t yet have a name. Our founder had just built the first SAM program inside a major Midwest corporation — and saw an opportunity to bring that same discipline to companies who were quietly overpaying every publisher they did business with.
With no client list and no industry to point to, he picked up the phone and started calling Fortune 100s. The pitch was simple: you’re spending more than you should, and we can prove it.
Nearly three decades later, that conviction still drives us. We’ve grown into a vendor-independent SAM advisory serving federal agencies and enterprise organizations, built the industry’s deepest pricing intelligence database in GreenBook, and earned a reputation as the firm publishers don’t want on the other side of the table.
What hasn’t changed is the way we work. Every engagement is still customized. Every recommendation is still backed by data and human expertise. And every client relationship is still built on the same values that started it all — business intelligence, integrity, empathy, accountability, solidarity, sincerity, and quality.
We’ve never sold software. We’ve never taken a publisher kickback. We’ve only ever worked for one side of the table — yours.
